a note on knitting

Earlier this summer I finally completed all my Etsy orders and put down the knitting needles for a little break. The Beast Pillow was a big hit (yay!) but after knitting the same pattern for over a year and a half, I needed some distance (uh-oh).

I think of this "time off" as completely necessary and part of what it means to remain excited about your work and remain curious. In continuing to make the same thing over and over again, boredom crept in, and I stopped thinking. I just went on auto-pilot.

Recently, I picked up the knitting needles again and am knitting at my own pace and knitting some different things. I'm not saying I'm ready to end my knitting vacation, but at least it feels good to knit again. I'm slowly building inventory and hope to switch up some things with the shop... stay tuned!
