A NEW LOVE: WELDING

Yesterday I did something I've been wanting to do for years: I took an introductory welding class! Molten Metal Works is just down the road and I finally signed up for their Intro to MIG welding class. I came back home sweaty and covered in metal dust and smiling from ear to ear.

I have different eyes now and I look at some of the furniture in the house differently. And I just want to make stuff and put this new love of welding into practice! High on list are metal plant stands. We have so many plants. So so many. It's almost bordering on the ridiculous.

I scour the flea markets for plant stands and have found a few lovelies. But I'm very particular. I tend not to like the ornate ones with curly cues and such (of which there seem to be many), and I always hold out out for the more modern and simple ones with clean lines and less fuss. But they seem hard to come by. So I want to make my own.
